Run away *open*

Ariana trudged through the woods. It had gotten dark outside and it was pitch black. She was constantly tripping and banging her head on things. With a sigh of defeat, she pulled out her wand. "Lumos" She whispered. A pale blue light glowed. She didn't want anyone to find her and she wanted to go through this run away thing the mortal way.

Maybe if she has left long enough, everything she had done would clear up. Maybe everyone would forget about her, maybe that's what she wanted. Ariana found a small hill with no trees on it. She conjured up a tent and a matress with blankets. It was getting late and Ariana was tired from hiking all day. She climbed in and zipped up her tent.

"Maybe I'm being stupid, maybe I should go back..." She whispered to herself in the lanterns glow. She curled into the blankets and pillows. "Or maybe all the mess I made will just be a dream..." Sleep over came her.

The morning chill wasn't what had woken up Ariana. It was the approaching footsteps. her tent rustled. A familiar voice came through that made Ariana swear. When they unzipped the tent she saw...

Gabriella, who had been running for about an hour to clear her head. Upon smelling Ariana's trail, she had decided to go after her young cousin. It had taken longer than expected, but still much shorter than she suspected it had taken Ariana to get this far. "Hey Ari, what are you doing?" Gabriella asked, her tone confused, but otherwise normal.

Ariana stared at her. At least Gabby hadn't seen the note. "Nothin'..." Ariana stared at the ground. She wanted time to sort out her thoughts before anyone dragged her back. "Just thinking..."

[igloogirl]

"Right then," Gabriella replied. "Well, I'll leave to your thoughts. If I come back in an hour or so, will you be ready to talk?" she asked, twiddling her fingers nervously. She still had not thought of exactly how she wanted to apolgize, so another run would help her to think.

Ariana wrinkled her nose. "I'm probably gonna keep walking. And no I don't feel like talking." She said casually and with a flick of her wand the tent dissapeared. "Nice seeing you" She began to walk away, putting her wand in her pocket.

[igloogirl]

"Then I'll talk and you can listen," Gabriella replied firmly, walking next to her cousin for a moment. "I will see you in an hour. Have fun walking." Before Ariana could respond, Gabriella was gone, running into the thickness of the woods once more.

Ariana grumbled as she walked, thinking of ways to get to the muggle world. Or maybe she could go hang out in Diagon Alley. At least then there would be witnesses when someone tried to drag her back home. She shoved her hands in her pockets as she made her way to Hogsmead.

The run was doing Gabriella some good. She was deep into the forest when she finally stopped to check her watch. It was time for her to go find Ariana again. After all, she had promised Angel.

Running again, Gabriella stopped at her cousin's side. Ariana was almost to Hogsmeade, but still had about a mile left. "Hi again," Gabriella said slowly.

Ariana huffed away the smart alec response she would like to say. "You said you wanted to talk and I'll listen until I get to Hogsmead" She said blankly. "So talk"

[igloogirl]

"Right," Gabriella said, nodding. She paused, fighting for things to say. Finally she began to speak. "First, I'm sorry I yelled at you. It's not your fault. I was just mad...I don't know who I was mad at, but I took it out on you, and that was wrong. So, I'm sorry. Second, thanks for telling me about Isaac. I think it's probably better that I know. Third, Angel's really worried about you, and she wants to know that your safe. Fourth, I think you should come back to Hogwarts, but I won't make you."

They were almost to Hogsmead. "I don't feel like going back right now, and it's not completleyyour fault." Ariana said and picked up the pace. She could hear Hogsmead from here. She sighed and shoved her hand in her pockets and stared at the ground.

[igloogirl]

Gabriella's eyes narrowed slightly, but she took a deep breath to steady herself. Her cousin's words were as harsh as she had expected. "I suppose that's a good thing," Gabriella said quietly. "But what do you want me to tell Angel?"

Ariana shrugged. "That's not exactly my problem now is it?" She asked sarcastically and picked up the pace even more. The sounds of Hogsmade were even louder now and she could see it. "Tell her you couldn't find me or I'm dead, I don't know and I really don't care" She shrugged indifferently.

[igloogirl]

Gabriella bit back a sharp response. She was choosing to play the role of the kind cousin that came to apologize and was worried about her little cousin. "Well then, I'll tell her that you love her so much you had to leave her," Gabriella replied slightly sarcastically. "Thanks for listening...I think." Gabriella began to walk faster into Hogsmeade, planning on walking up the path back to the castle.

Ariana hung, back. She grabbed her knife, flipping the blade out. Having it in her hand made her feel better, calmer. She took off running the other way, the blade tearing open her hand. She didn't care. She didn't care about the shooting pain and the blood spurting on the ground. The tears running down her face were from sorrow and anger, not physical pain. She kept running until her legs gave out beneath her and she collapsed, still holding the knife. It was still tearing open her hand.
